About us…
Superior® Mattress is a family owned and operated mattress manufacturing company
started in 1946. Owned and operated by Charles Pike and his wife Virginia,
Superior® Mattress is based in Evansville, IN., Superior® Mattress produced 15
trailer loads of mattress sets or 800 mattresses and boxspring’s daily that
shipped out all across the US. Over the years, Superior® Mattress Co. became a
trusted name in the bedding industry. Superior Mattress closed its doors in 1989
to the wholesale industry and In March of 1990, Son Steven Pike and wife Kim
opened their Retail Division called Mattress Factory Showroom, Inc. so that
local Evansville customers could buy direct from the factory. Mattress Factory
Showroom, Inc specializes in custom size and specialty sleep mattresses.
On February 7th 2009 Charles Pike passed away to be with our LORD JESUS CHRIST
To honor his father, son Steven who has worked side by side with his father in
the mattress manufacturing business since 1968 has once again reopened the
wholesale division of Superior mattress.
April 2009 the new Superior wholesale line was unveiled for furniture and sleep
specialty store dealers with great success. With all the advancements in
products and design codes, Superior® Mattress wants to assure their wholesale
customers that we are still producing mattresses with the same quality and
attention to detail as we did when we first opened our doors in 1946. In
addition to the new lines, Superior still manufacture’s several of the original
classic designs, which have all been updated to pass current federal standards.
Superior has expanded the sleep product lines to include several memory foam,
latex and High Resiliency foam sleep systems as well as many spring designs.
Don’t be fooled by the fact that Superior® Mattress is family operated. Superior
mattress has an operating facility of over one hundred thousand square feet and
a fully trained and experienced staff, We turn out truckloads a day. The people
at Superior® Mattress don’t believe in wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars
on fancy gimmicks and loud commercials. We take pride in the sleep products we
produce and know the quality will speak for itself.
